VAHID NAYYERI

Vahid Nayyeri was born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran. He earned his B.Sc. degree from the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2006, his M.Sc. degree from the University of Tehran in 2008, and his Ph.D. degree from IUST in 2013, all in electrical engineering.

 

Between 2007 and 2013, Dr. Nayyeri served as a Research Assistant at IUST and also held a position as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. In 2013, he joined IUST as a faculty member, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor, Director of the Advanced Radio Circuits and Systems (ARCS) Laboratory, and Head of the Department of Satellite Technology. He returned to the University of Waterloo as a Visiting Professor in 2019. Dr. Nayyeri has authored and co-authored two books/book chapters and over 140 technical publications. He has supervised and co-supervised more than 30 graduate students. His research interests include microwave active and passive circuits, antennas, and applied and computational electromagnetics.

 

Dr. Nayyeri was honored with the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award by the IEEE Iran Section in 2014 and received the Raj Mittra Travel Grant from IEEE AP-S in 2024. He has served as a Guest Editor for two special issues of the journal Sensors and currently serves as an Associate Editor for both IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and IET Microwaves, Antennas, and Propagation. A Senior Member of IEEE, Dr. Nayyeri has contributed to the IEEE Iran Section, holding roles such as Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Membership Development and Young Professionals Committees.
